Imagine waking up one day with the power to jump four minutes into the future, giving you the chance to change certain events before they unfold. That’s the thrilling premise of 4 Minutes, a mystery-packed, emotionally charged drama that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
The story follows Great, a university student and son of a wealthy businessman, who suddenly gains this incredible ability. One of his future jumps leads him to cross paths with Tyme, a talented and straight-forward surgeon. As the two grow closer, the seemingly straightforward storyline takes unexpected twists that turn Great’s world upside down, unraveling layers of complexity in both their lives.
What 4 Minutes does brilliantly is create an engaging blend of mystery, romance, and time-bending drama. The pacing is fast without feeling rushed, with eight episodes that deliver a tight, intriguing plot. Each episode demands your full attention as it slowly reveals key details that change how you view the story. The non-linear narrative adds another layer of suspense, constantly challenging your theories, only to surprise you with twists that you won’t see coming.

The cinematography is nothing short of stunning. Each scene is meticulously colored and lit to amplify the emotions being portrayed, almost drawing you into the world of the characters. Add in a perfectly paired soundtrack that heightens the intensity and emotion of each scene, and you’ve got a visually and emotionally captivating experience.
Where 4 Minutes truly shines, though, is in its performances. The chemistry between Great (played by Bible) and Tyme (played by Jes) is palpable, with every glance and interaction carrying immense emotional weight. Their connection transcends time, which is beautifully mirrored by the show’s core theme. The supporting cast, particularly Bas and Fuaiz as Korn and Tonkla, also deserve recognition for adding complexity to the plot and creating memorable, relatable characters.
However, the show isn’t without its minor flaws. The ending, while providing some closure, introduces a character in the final episode whose purpose remains unclear. This, combined with a somewhat rushed resolution to Great and Tyme’s relationship, leaves a few lingering questions. Their connection, although deeply emotional throughout the series, feels like it deserved a bit more development in the final act. We’re shown that they end up together, but we don’t get to explore their relationship in the real world as much as we’d like.
Despite these shortcomings, 4 Minutes is an exhilarating ride from start to finish. It expertly weaves together a gripping plot, stellar performances, and beautiful cinematography, making it a must-watch for anyone in the mood for intense drama and thought-provoking twists. If you love stories that keep you guessing and romances that pull you in emotionally, 4 Minutes will not disappoint.
